Because it's more likely to be read here than on the previous thread (I'm a day-sleeper), I'd like to leave a few comments that aren't specifically tonight's-show-related.

1. Brian is absolutely correct that the effort to get Amber out of the house is a game move for them and not personal. They are not using Caleb's delusions to help them get her out of the house. In fact, he hinders their efforts which is why they've had to go to such great lengths to appease his ego and sense of self-importance. They're afraid he'll blow up if they tell him that their real plan this whole time was to boot Amber (and then Caleb). I feel this is an extremely important point. Which leads me to...

2. Caleb is a through-and-through misogynistic *bleep*. I think that Amber is in actual physical/social danger from him--including outside of the BB house. Right now, he's got all the qualifications of being a psychopathic murderer once he's out of the house and has access to his weapons and her address. If you listen carefully to the language he uses, it should bring up some terrifying recent events in the real world for you. Which leads me to...

3. I can't help but wonder if "putting her in her place" isn't just a reference to her gender and the fact that she "owes him" but also her skin tone. He was caught having some racial garbage on his FB/Twitter page (I forget which), and it was taken down by his folks who said he was in no way a racist. But it was reported on Because You're Addicted by a feed watcher that he used some racial insults against her (including the banana and reference to her "nappy hair"). So she's beautiful and tall and all that, and he wants her... but does that mean he's color blind?

4. And last, most important point: If this is a non-jury week for eviction, it is actually in Amber's best interest to be evicted so that she is not stuck in the jury house with Caleb. Under no circumstances do I want to see any player ever have their safety threatened. I know the boys aren't thinking this way (boys seldom do--no offense), but I see it clear as day. She doesn't want to get stuck with him in that jury house where the security isn't as tight. That idea frightens the bejeesus out of me.

4b. It's wise for the boys to warn Caleb ahead of airtime that she's being evicted. I do not trust Caleb to think of the live cameras, and it would be a disaster for the show if he lost his marbles and hurt people after the vote. Ironically, security would be more ready, I believe, to pull him from the game when cameras/production are not in full swing during the live show.

I completely agree with your post. I shudder to think about Amber being in the jury house with Caleb alone. Someone told me last night that the producers address the situation as "he's young & in love, it's fine" but it's NOT fine. Not in any way is it fine. This isn't a few off - hand comments of his, this full on delusional obsession. I'm scared for her after the show.

I absolutely do not like the way Caleb kept saying, put her in her place like she is his property, as if she is a slave on a plantation. ..he is so out of control! BB needs to remove him from the show, I only see bad things happening from this point forward in regard to Calebs obsession with Amber and its very scary watching it unfold. In other news...I missed the show due to weather!! :(

Does anyone think that BB is encouraging Caleb to act in this manner for ratings?

Anonymous said...

@slnc That's a very disturbing thought but not out of the question. People in general haven't become truly aware of the dangers some people pose to others. And I agree that he's got plantation mentality. It's disgusting above and beyond the misogyny.

@Dawn I'm agreed with you also. It is not in any way fine. The producers should have their heads out of their rectums on this, especially after the UCSB killings. If they can't seen parallels to the behavior there and the behavior Caleb is exhibiting, they're just not willing to pay attention. All for the sake of ratings, no doubt. I believe Caleb is literally out of his mind.

Unknown said...

slnc ... I think they are letting it go unchecked for the ratings.

Unknown said...

I don't think he's being encouraged because it took them awhile to show his interest in Amber. If that were the case I think BB would show more of his obsession but they don't.

Unknown said...

Jaime, who are your favorites and least favorites?

Unknown said...

Yeah, I don't think they are encouraging him but by letting it go unchecked they are culpable (?) & will be in big trouble if anything happens, even after the show. People who don't follow these blogs & don't have the feeds have NO idea how bad it really is.

Logan...hmmm..I'd say my least fav is Victoria (she has no idea what she's doing there lol)

My fav to love is Donny because he's just so nice.

My fav GAME player so far is Derrick, though I don't like what him/Donny/Frankie are doing (getting Zach to verbally attack Amber) so that they can win this weeks Team America's mission.

How about you?? :)

slnc said...

Well he said in the very beginning that he thought she was beautiful. ...now it like the soap operas ...just leading us all up to the main story line...ijs. They're not going to jolt us into full insanity obsession and lust!!! CRAZY!# BB

I think we all know Caleb is crazy and i think you are all right there could be some real danger. But we all know BB wont do anything about it, just look at past seasons where things went unchecked. Its sad but BB will only do something "reactive" and not proactive

My favorite is either Nicole, or Derrick.
My least favorite is either Caleb or Victoria! Caleb's stalkermance with Amber is just too much for me. And like you said, Victoria isn't playing the game at all.
I don't like what they're doing to Amber either. Although great TV, some of things that Zach is going to say is a little to much.

Misogynistic knucklehead to a degree I totally agree with you. But to say that his military background, access to weapons, and the fact that he did have some questionable comments on race, should not conclude that he is a bad who would lie in wait outside of the Big Brother house to attack Amber. That is a bit harsh.

Yesterday Caleb mentioned to Frankie and Derrick that "I can't wait to get back to my country town where I have hoes all over me." That is who he is. An egotistical tool, who needs his ego stroked. He is used to getting chicks, getting what he wants, and now he has ran into opposition. Caleb in my opinion, is not an ex military man who is a stalker with weapons lying in wait to do harm, or some angry recluse who couldn’t wait to corner amber and strike fear to the point where she would be in harms way. I don’t think he would mind being alone with her, but not to harm her.

When Caleb is at the center of attention he is all in. I actually wish Brittany before she left had tried to stroke his ego a hell of a lot more, and he possibly would have handed over that Veto to her. Victoria, Jocasta, and even one of the Detonators would be wise to side align with him, because he is a rogue who when attention is not devoted to Amber would be willing to shake up the house and not make this one of the most predictable and somewhat boring BB’s in recent years. He is not afraid to get people pissed at him ,and that’s what its going to take to stop watching every female voted off this season.

Frankie is way too social to worry about anything right now. Derrick is running things, the Detonators keep Zach in check, and Cody has shown that he is not as strong as I though he was. Everybody else in the house needs a rogue I don’t mind getting dirty player to make a move, whoever chooses to stroke Caleb’s ego would get a very valuable player that could further his/her game significantly.

Caleb is acting like a 2yr old child who can't have a toy they really want and then acts out and throws a fit when he can't have it. I feel sorry for the HGs for having to endure his temper tantrums.

Zach is going to talk his way out of the game he don't think about what he doing or how it will affect his game before he acts he needs to be back doored and then go home and and grow up and stop living off his parents and get a job and a life

Dang I sure hope BB/CBS is not that hard up for ratings that they would continue to allow & encourage this "pyscho" type behavior from a current houseguest towards another houseguest (ESPECIALLY since Amber has told Caleb multiple times that she is not interested in him that way), but then again I don't put anything past this network when it comes to BB...

I actually think that once Amber is evicted we will start to see a whole different (maybe his true self) side of Caleb.
1: He will no longer have Amber around to distract & or obsess over.
2: It may almost guarantee that he will be completely pissed at Franky & Zach for having the house vote her out instead of what Caleb really wanted done & just scare her.
3: No doubt he'll be gunning for the both of them (because I have no faith in the fact that Caleb will ever really agree to actually vote her out).
4: With his new found anger toward F & Z that will most def change things up for the underdog part of the house.
5: with all this being said I have no doubt that we'll start seeing a much more competitive & goal driven Caleb.
Sooo, Amber being evicted is killing 2 birds with 1 stone in the fact that if she is however in danger of some sort, her leaving will be a God send for her safety & the ending of Caleb's obsession over her and also an overdue Oppurtunity for Caleb to be the driving force in shaking things up in the house & game...

I am going to start off saying I think Caleb is crazy and there is no excuse for him acting this way, but at the same time Amber has done a good job of leading him on. For instance the whole pickle situation. There was no reason for her to put that dare on the table. There have been other times where she leads it on and complains to other guests but won't straight up tell him with conviction. Instead she just beats around the bush because it is a game, and that is her only ally. She is using him to get further for the most part. She is not as innocent in this as everyone is making it out to be. That being said, Caleb is crazy and will look like an idiot after this show is done. Do I think he will go crazy like some people say, I don't think so. Just because he has weapons and served in the military doesn't mean he will snap. If anything, I think he will do damage to himself after he sees how he has acted on national television. Just my opinion. I hope none of this happens of course.

I hope all his "hoes" are watching this and run for the hills. No one deserves to be talked about like that.

I hope Amber and Caleb can read these comments when they get out of the house to see how concerned we are. Like in the last post that Derrick is a cop and should catch what we do not see on TV.

Agreed!
